Purpose

This is the first webinar in a series that will explore research demonstrating how racism and other forms of discrimination can serve as risk factors to activate a toxic stress response, and lead to health conditions that have been shown empirically to have a connection to ACE exposure.

This webinar will:
  • Discuss some of the main social and environmental factors that lead to health disparities as well as the impacts of racism and discrimination on public health across communities.
  • Broadly discuss the role of racism and discrimination as risk factors for toxic stress and ACE Associated Health Conditions.
  • Make the case to providers that implementing Trauma-Informed Care principles and ACE screening can help them promote health equity as part of supporting the health and wellbeing of their patients.
