Here’s a snapshot of the travel, presentations, and honors received by the talented and dedicated staff of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health during the month of August: 

 

  •  Dr. Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., executive director, keynoted the National Latino Behavioral Health Conference (NLBHA) on August 23 in San Antonio, TX.  The NLBHA national conference provides education on the best practices and innovations in the design, delivery and evaluation of Latino behavioral health.

 

  • Vicky Coffee, director of programs, facilitated dialogue between faith leaders by presenting “Building a Trauma-Informed Congregation” during a panel discussion at the National Alliance of Mental Illness’s 9th annual Pathways to Hope conference in San Antonio, TX.  

 

  • Vicky also presented a session on “The Importance of Self-care” to 18 members of the University of Texas at Austin’s Advise TX college advising corps. Advise TX advisors support students in Title One high schools navigate the higher education system, starting with college admissions.
