Mental health and well-being must remain a state policy priority. The COVID-19 pandemic and the protests against ongoing racism that exists in our country have caused many to struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, and a general sense of mental and emotional fatigue.

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health is working hard to keep mental health and substance use issues in the forefront of policymakers’ minds and hearts. We are pleased to share our policy priorities for the next biennium. These priorities represent mental health and substance use issues that we believe deserve the attention of policymakers and advocates. We are hopeful that through collaborative efforts we can create systemic changes that make significant improvements to the mental health and well-being of Texans.
