AUSTIN, Texas – The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health is proud to announce the launch of its new and improved A Guide to Understanding Mental Health Systems and Services in Texas, an interactive website designed to help users navigate pressing policy issues, funding sources, and programs of interest.

This comprehensive, data-driven, and evidence-based guide serves as a vital resource for policymakers, advocates, service providers, and the public, offering insights into the complexities of Texas’ mental health systems. The Hogg Foundation updates the Mental Health Guide to coincide with each Texas legislative session to help inform mental health and substance use policy analysis, legislative development, and decision-making. The latest addition’s enhanced features make it easier than ever to explore key areas such as prevention, early intervention, and access to care.

“The Guide reflects our commitment to advancing mental health and well-being within all Texas communities,” says Dr. Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., senior associate vice president and executive director of the Hogg Foundation. “We hope it will empower legislators, advocates, and stakeholders with the knowledge and tools needed to address critical challenges in mental health care.”

Alison Mohr Boleware, policy director at the Hogg Foundation, emphasizes the importance of the Guide in bridging information gaps: “This resource equips every reader with the clarity and context needed to understand the mental health policy landscape and promote innovative solutions for all people in Texas. “

The interactive website includes user-friendly navigation, updated data, and in-depth explanations of how mental health services are delivered and funded in Texas. It is part of the Hogg Foundation’s ongoing efforts to effect systemic change to improve mental health and well-being across Texas.
