Supporting knowledge sharing, emerging practices, and learning opportunities.Research
We support research by facilitating knowledge sharing, ongoing learning, and opportunities to improve systems of care among partners and stakeholders. The foundation also supports new research approaches that engage youth and adults with direct experience with mental health challenges, their family members, providers, and academic partners. Innovation is central to the foundation’s approach, guiding its efforts to identify and test new practices that have the potential to transform mental health in Texas.
The foundation also proudly aligns itself with the mission and values, including innovation and evidence-based practice, of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work (SHS) at The University of Texas at Austin.

Innovation
The foundation has long supported the development and implementation of emerging practices in mental health. By identifying and testing new models of care, funding pilot projects, and fostering cross-sector collaborations, the foundation bridges the gap between research and practice—ensuring promising ideas are tested, refined, and implemented in real-world settings.

Education
Education plays a critical role in moving research and innovation toward lasting change. The foundation is committed to promoting learning among practitioners, policymakers, and community organizations through workshops, learning collaboratives, toolkits, and other resources.
