Here’s a snapshot of the presentations made, events hosted, and honors received by the talented and dedicated staff of the Hogg Foundation during the month of January 2025. 

Alison Mohr Boleware

Alison Mohr Bohlware, director of policy, led a Hogg Policy Academy seminar that focused on prepping fellows for the legislative session. It included a budget presentation and a panel discussion featuring legislative staffers. 

Alison also presented to the Legislative Study Group to provide an overview of the mental health policy landscape, the Hogg Foundation’s policy recommendations, and what to expect this legislative session. 

Ike Evans

Ike Evans, communications manager, hosted a live episode of the Hogg Foundation podcast, Into the Fold, on the UT Austin campus as part of ‘Hi, How Are You Day, a mental health awareness event co-sponsored by the Hi, How Are You Project and the UT Austin Longhorn Wellness Center. With a focus onBurnt Orange Resilience: Campus Mental Health in 2025′, podcast guests discussed mental health realities and insights for college students. 

Octavio Martinez

Dr. Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., senior association vice president and executive director, attended the annual Executive Committee meeting of the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC) in Austin. Created by the 86th Texas Legislature, the TCMHCC is tasked with leveraging the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system of Texas in relation to children and adolescents.
