The following opportunity has been shared on behalf of a member or affiliate of the Austin Area African American Behavioral Health Network (4ABHN).
One out of every five children have a diagnosable mental health need. Unfortunately, not every child who has a mental health need receives services. This could be due to: not knowing what services are available; difficulties in accessing services; or perceived stigma about receiving mental health care. The annual Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day is a free, family-friendly rally and festival that provides information about community services while empowering children and families to rise above mental health stigma. The event will take place on Saturday, April 27, 10:00am-1:00pm at the Browning Hangar at Mueller (Austin 78723).
