Central Texas African American Family Support Conference is soliciting paper proposals for workshops and poster presentations for the 2021 conference. For 20 years, CTAAFSC has been educating and reducing stigma in the African American community about mental health, substance use and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The uniqueness of CTAAFSC stems from the fact that almost all the presenters have lived experience and professional expertise in their topics.
The conference will be virtual and this gives us a significant opportunity to engage with a wider audience in Texas and beyond. We will work with you to navigate this virtual field. Submit your proposal now for the opportunity to present between 3rd and 5th February 2021.
Topics may include:
- COVID-19 and its impact on the African American Community
- LGBTQ and mental health
- Substance use
- Intellectual and developmental disability
- Depression
- Grief
- Anxiety
- The criminalization of mental health and substance use
