When Black Women Seek Help: Addressing the Systems and Intersections of Violence in Black Women Survivors
Thursday, July 9, 2020 | 6:00pm – 7:30pm (EST)
Join Ujima, Inc. for coffee and conversation around some of the help-seeking behaviors that Black women may employ when attempting to stop or mitigate domestic and sexual violence in their lives. This conversation will explore the many different avenues or systems that Black women may engage when addressing the intersecting forms of violence in their lives. We will be joined by several guests working in the housing, domestic violence, healthcare, and legal systems, who will discuss the ways in which advocates in those fields can be more culturally humble, trauma-informed, and responsive to the needs and realities of Black women survivors.
