Join us for a gathering of archivists, historians, genealogists, descendants, former patients, and hospital administrators working together to address the challenges of managing historical mental health records. Over the course of two days, you will hear from:
- Dr. King Davis, research professor and principal investigator of The Central State Hospital Digital Library & Archives Project, and president of The Friends of Central State Hospital
- Sarah Koonts, retired state archivist of North Carolina
- Rachel Alblinger, peer support specialist, in conversation with former patients
- Adrienne Fikes, family historian and founder of the #16Greats Project
- Dr. Alexandra Lord, historian and descendant
- Diedra Clark, historic preservation and grant coordinator, Texas Health and Human Services, Health and Specialty Care System
Opportunities for community building activities, collaborative problem solving on the challenges of managing historical mental health records, and planning for what comes next will be available between speaker presentations.
