The Texas Grants Resource Center (TGRC) had a busy 2025! The center hosted more than 250 visits from various nonprofits, researchers, artists, students, and community members from across Texas. Serving everyone from first-time grant seekers to experienced fundraising professionals, TGRC continues to be a hub for learning, support, and connection.
A key focus of TGRC’s work in 2025 was training. Amy Loar, administrator of TGRC, delivered 13 training sessions on topics such as grant searching, project budgeting, and fundraising planning to a total of nearly 300 attendees. These sessions empowered participants to effectively navigate the funding landscape, from initial research to final grant application.
In July, TGRC welcomed its new program associate, Simone Till. Simone works alongside Amy supporting TGRC visitors and has created new tools to make grant seeking accessible to a wider audience. They include:
- Statewide Opportunities webpage listing upcoming grant opportunities and nonprofit events across Texas.
- Rolling/Ongoing Grants in Texas document highlighting Texas-based funding opportunities available year-round.
- Grants 101 handout explaining how to find grant opportunities and the basics of grant writing.
Beyond just metrics, the quality of visitors’ experiences reflects the true value of TGRC’s work. Here are some comments our visitors have shared:
- “Everyone is always so nice and helpful. This is one of the best services for not-for-profits and freelancers that I have ever encountered.”
- “Working with Texas Grants Resource Center was incredibly valuable to our grant application process. The TGRC team provided thoughtful, practical guidance that helped us better understand the intent behind grant questions, strengthen our narrative, and align our responses more clearly with funder priorities.”
- “I’m really impressed with how much I have learned about grant searches and grant writing. I feel more confident as I move forward with helping others look for grants for animal welfare.”
