AUSTIN, Texas – The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health is excited to announce the launch of the Reliable Flexible Funding Grant (RFF) program. The foundation will invest $5 million over 5 years (up to $1,000,000 per year to multiple organizations) in flexible, reliable funding to under-resourced community-based mental health organizations.
The program will provide flexible funding to support the overall organizational capacity and stability of organizations and communities that experience the most disparities, challenges, and barriers related to mental health and behavioral well-being.
“By offering flexible funding, the foundation aims to help these organizations sustain their operations, deepen their presence, and expand their reach, ultimately fostering greater mental health outcomes for these communities over time,” says Crystal Viagran, director of finance and operations and project lead for the RFF initiative.
Flexible funding enables organizations to strengthen their long-term sustainability and resilience, focus on their mission-driven work, and promote equity, inclusivity, and sustainability within the nonprofit sector.
“This initiative helps operationalize trust-based philanthropy, while centering community-led decision-making,” said Dr. Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., executive director of the Hogg Foundation. “Historically, these organizations have faced philanthropic funding disparities. Providing flexible funding grants will create opportunities for them to advance their mission and explore creative ways to effect positive change.”
