Co-founded by a visionary Texan woman and mental health advocate, Ima Hogg, the Hogg Foundation is especially pleased to observe March as  Women’s History Month. For more than 80 years, we’ve funded many innovative initiatives to carry forward Miss Ima’s passion for promoting mental health. 

The Music Therapy Program at Texas Woman’s University, which ran from 1958-1961, is a perfect example. This project provided the salary of Geneva Scheihing and enabled her to offer a course in music therapy, to assist in setting up a clinical practice for music therapy at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and to engage in additional research.
