The 2014-2016 Hogg Mental Health Policy Fellow cohort recently celebrated the end of their tenure in July. The fellows made great strides in the Texas policy arena in a variety of topic areas like the mental health workforce, substance use co-occurrence, services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the public mental health system.

Five fellows were a part of this cohort: Apryl Rosas, Cate Graziani, Colleen McKinney, Darcy Kues, and Kate Murphy. Organizations who hosted fellows included the Texas Office for the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health America of Texas, National Association of Social Workers – Texas Chapter, and Texas Public Policy Foundation.

Although their time as Hogg Fellows has concluded, many of the fellows are continuing to work in mental health or other related fields. We have little doubt that this group of young professionals will continue to impact the mental health policy field for years to come!

But don’t take my word for it. Here’s a short video in which the policy fellows discuss their own impact. Enjoy!
