Free Mental Health Public Forum with Hollywood Producer Gary Foster

January 15, 2013     3:00-4:00 p.m.

You're invited to a public forum hosted by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health featuring Hollywood producer Gary Foster.

Gary Foster is a successful Hollywood film producer and a mental health advocate. Gary's passion for addressing mental health issues grew from his life-changing experience producing The Soloist, starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey, Jr. The film is based on the true story of an unlikely friendship between Los Angeles Times journalist Steve Lopez and Nathaniel Ayers, a Juilliard-trained musician with a diagnosis of schizophrenia living on the streets of L.A. Since the production of The Soloist, Gary has become a strong supporter of the World Health Organization's QualityRights Project, designed to improve the quality of care and human rights conditions in mental health and social care services around the world.
