The Nominations and Elections Committee is pleased to begin accepting recommendations for bylaws amendments and nominations for positions on the NAMI Texas Board of Directors and the Texas representative (NCR) to the National Peer Leadership Council.

 

In 2019 the Bylaws require the membership to elect five Directors: a Director representing Regions 6, 7, and 9, and two Directors At Large, each serving a term of three years (2020-2023).

The following positions are up for election on the NAMI Texas Board, and two Directors have agreed to run again:

  • Harold “Hal” Meyers – Region 6/At Large Director
  • Bill Matthews – Region 7/At Large Director
  • Elise Banks (agreed to rerun as At Large) – Region 9/At Large Director
  • Andrew Horner (agreed to rerun as Region 9) – At Large Director / Vice-President
  • Open – At Large Director

 

Affiliates in the current year’s designated regions may nominate a director for either Regional Director or an At-Large Director. All other affiliates may nominate an At-Large Director. Nominations for all directors shall be made by the members through Affiliates. No Affiliate may nominate more than one individual for a director position per election. Please note that each affiliate can nominate one candidate for the NAMI Texas Board of Directors and the Texas representative (NCR) to the National Peer Leadership Council.

Elections and Nominations:
Board nominations must be submitted electronically to Greg Hansch, Executive Director, NAMI Texas (executive.director@namitexas.org), subject line: 2019 BOD Nominations & Elections.

The following documents are required for a valid submission:

or

2019 Texas Representative (NCR) to the NAMI National Peer Leadership Council Nominee Application

3. Candidate Picture (jpeg)
4. 2019 Affiliate Nomination Endorsement

All nominations must be received no later than Thursday, August 8, 2019.

Important Dates:

The NAMI Texas Board of Directors has established November 8, 2019 as Election Day. The Date of Record shall be September 9, 2019. This date will be used to determine which members are in good standing (membership dues paid in full) in order to receive ballots for the November 8th election. The 2019 election will be conducted using paper and electronic ballots. Paper ballots will be mailed to members in good standing who have not provided valid email addresses by September 9, 2019 and must be returned to the NAMI Texas office post marked no later than November 1, 2019. Electronic ballots will be made available to members in good standing who have provided a valid email address by October 9, 2019, and must be cast no later than November 8, 2019.

If you have provided a valid email address, you will be receiving your ballot electronically via the email address you provided. Paper ballots are ONLY to be used if you choose not to vote electronically or if you do not have a valid email address.
